Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using QueueSim (the "Service") — the website at queuesim.com, the on-page chat widget, or the public MCP endpoint at queuesim.com/mcp/v1 — you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. The Service is owned and operated by ChiAha, LLC ("ChiAha", "we", "us"). Contact: queuesim@chiaha.com.

2. The Service

QueueSim is a free queueing simulator. It runs discrete-event simulations of M/M/c-shaped systems against arrival rates, service distributions, and staffing schedules you choose. Tools include a hands-on web simulator, an on-page AI chat that calls the simulator on your behalf, and a public MCP server that lets MCP-aware clients (Claude, Cursor, others) run simulations from your existing AI conversations.

3. What the Service is NOT

• Not professional advice. Outputs are scenario projections based on inputs you provide. Use them as one input to operational decisions, alongside professional judgment, your facility's actual data, and applicable regulations
• Not a substitute for a custom modeling engagement. Real operations regularly violate M/M/c assumptions (abandonment, priority routing, breaks, outages, skill-based routing). For those problems, the simulator describes the gap but does not yet model it — that's a paid ChiAha engagement
• Not a replacement for queueing theory expertise. The tool can answer "how many servers do I need" but can't tell you whether your inputs accurately reflect reality

4. Free use, no account

• The Service is free to use. There is no signup, no login, no payment
• The on-page chat and MCP endpoint are rate-limited per IP. The chat is also capped by a monthly inference-spend budget; once exceeded, chat returns a temporary 503 until the next month
• We may add an authenticated tier in the future for higher-volume use; current free use is unaffected by any future tier

5. Acceptable use

• Don't reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or attempt to extract our underlying simulation engine
• Don't try to circumvent rate limits (rotating IPs, distributed clients, etc.)
• Don't use the AI chat to generate content that violates Anthropic's Acceptable Use Policy — we relay your messages to Anthropic and they enforce theirs
• Don't use the Service to make automated decisions affecting human safety without independent professional review
• Respect the spirit of "free for everyone": don't burn the budget cap with automated workloads that block other users

We may rate-limit, block, or refuse service to clients that abuse the Service. The in-process limiter today does this automatically based on request volume per IP; manual blocks are rare but possible.

6. Intellectual property

QueueSim's software, simulation engine, UI, content, and the underlying Odin DES binary are owned by ChiAha. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for queueing simulation and analysis. The scenarios you model and the inputs you enter remain yours. Output from the simulator (charts, animations, numerical results) may be used for any lawful purpose including commercial use; attribution to QueueSim / ChiAha is appreciated but not required.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SIMULATION OUTPUTS ARE PROJECTIONS BASED ON INPUTS; THEY ARE NOT GUARANTEES OF ANY OPERATIONAL OUTCOME. THE SERVICE MAY BE UNAVAILABLE OR DEGRADED AT ANY TIME WITHOUT NOTICE.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL CHIAHA BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE. BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS FREE, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time — just close the tab. We may take the Service down, change it, or rate-limit specific clients at our sole discretion. There's no account to terminate.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Knox County, Tennessee, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
